Welcome to Panafrikan PHP: learn, build and share
We will learn web development by solving concrete problems, building projects, and sharing what we discover.
This blog was created to teach by doing.
Panafrikan PHP doesn't present code as a collection of isolated instructions. In each post, we'll apply a concept to create a feature, test it, explain the decisions, and improve it with community feedback.
You can start with no prior experience or delve deeper into software design, security, APIs, architecture, and cloud computing.
One route, different ways of learning
The content is designed for a young, mobile, and diverse audience. Choose the level of detail that matches your experience; you don't need to specify your age.
For students in grades equivalent to 10th and 11th: understand, modify and explain.
For students of systems, software and computer science: design, test and justify.
Objectives, exercises, and reusable criteria to support learning.
What you will find
- Basics: dynamic pages, variables, decisions, loops, functions, arrays, forms, and validation.
- Medium: organization, objects, errors, files, sessions, databases, CRUD, APIs and security.
- Advanced: architecture, Composer, testing, dependencies, contracts, performance, queues, observability, and continuous delivery.
Each lesson will include concepts, references to previous entries, a graphic, a guided lab, a training exercise, and a challenge to solve. There will also be a Media Mission , a University Extension activity , and guidance for teachers.
Our rhythm
After the first basic lesson, we will publish one post per week. At the end of each level, we will set aside two weeks to listen to the community and adjust the next level.
Languages and access
We're starting in Spanish and will gradually add versions in other languages. When we use machine translation, we'll clearly indicate it; the concepts, code, and exercises will be equivalent.
We will design for mobile reading and limited connections: copyable text, optimized images, and no mandatory video.
A safe community for learning
We will use fictitious data. Do not post passwords, documents, addresses, phone numbers, tokens, or personal information. You can participate using an alias and describe the functionality you want to build.
Your idea can guide future publications
Answer in the comments: What is your path —Media, University, Teacher or Self-taught—, what do you want to build and what do you want to learn?
Welcome to Panafrikan PHP. We'll start with a simple question: what problem would you like to learn how to solve?
Next publication: B01 — PHP from scratch: a page that responds to your data.
